Flu vaccination
We have flu vaccination
available in our surgery
2012 Flu vaccination will
be available in our Medical Centre
(from March every year in
general)
In general, people who are over 65 year old, any age who have medical problems
(eg. diabetes, heart problems), health workers, personal careers,
also pregnant women, will need flu
vaccination.
Do children need to have flu vaccination?
In general, fit and well
children do not need flu vaccination, unless they have heart disease,
asthma, immunity compromised diseases etc. If parents are still not sure
about the flu vaccination for children, please make an appointment to see
your GP and discuss it further individually.
Boostrix Vaccination (Whooping cough Vaccination)
The vaccination is recommended
for anyone who has not had a booster dosage and who has regular contact
with young infant children. It is
free for all new parents.
The vaccinations are now available in our medical centre.

Pap smear
Pap smear is usually performed one year after you have begun sexual
intercourse. In general, all women who
are sexually active and age between 18 to 70 should have a pap smear
screen every 2 years. If you have an abnormal pap smear, you will have to
have more frequent pap smears depending on the result.
The pap smear can be taken by our practice nurse Jay. It will be bulk
bill if the pap smear is taken by our practice nurse. Ring 9742 7988 for your appointment now if you have
not had your pap smear done in the last 2 years
You are still required to have pap smear after you have your Gardasil
vaccination.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is very useful treatment for some medical conditions.
Some common conditions are: Migraine headache; PMT(premenstrual
syndrome; IBS (irritable bowel syndrome); Muscular pain (especially neck
and shoulder muscular tension); Tension headache.
Dr Peijian (Peggy) Zeng is a qualified GP. She has passed her
fellowship examination. She has over 15 years general practice
experience. She is also a trained acupuncturist. She received her
acupuncture training in China.
If you think you would benefit from acupuncture treatment, you should
discuss acupuncture with your GP first. If she or he thinks that you do
not have contraindications for acupuncture, then you should make an
appointment to see Dr Zeng to discuss it further. Dr Zeng is happy to
discuss acupuncture treatment with your GP before your appointment.
Childhood
Vaccination
We provide childhood vaccinations. It is given on Tuesdays and
Thursdays by our practice Nurses Jay. All vaccination consultation fees
will be bulk billed when the vaccination is given by our practice nurse.
